Postdoctoral Research Associate

Adriana L. Romero-Olivares

Will be starting an as assistant professor at New Mexico State University Department of Biology in August 2020!!

I’m a scientist with a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Ecology and Evolution of soil microbes. I’m currently a Diversity & Innovation Scholar at the University of New Hampshire.

My main research interest is understanding how microbes adapt and evolve to global climate change. I mix-and-match traditional microbiological techniques with cutting-edge technology to assess changes to our ecosystems and to answer questions important in microbial ecosystem ecology and microbial evolution.

Ultimately, I want to provide knowledge that will help us plan and mitigate the effects of global warming on Earth, while answering long-standing questions on microbial adaptation strategies and ecosystem-level consequences on biogeochemical cycles.
